A word about trauma and EMDR

First, by trauma, I am not just referring to physical and/or sexual abuse (what we call Big T trauma), but any unprocessed shameful event (what we call Little t trauma).  When we have a traumatic experience, we feel it in our body differently from how we think of it in our brain, which is with an irrational thought.  With EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), you’re able to reprocess the event in a way that makes sense of the event to reveal a more rational explanation in our brain, and eliminate the uneasy feeling in the body.

You are not that unlovable, unworthy, defective person you think you are!

Those are all irrational thoughts I hear from my clients.  You are actually the opposite of that!  You are actually completely lovable, worthwhile, and have all the resources within you to be to become your best self!  EMDR is a preferred therapy to help you get from your head to your heart, and to feel better about yourself in both.  My wish for you is to reconnect with who you actually are!
